INTERMEDIATE GRAMMAR EXERCISES: (CB2): cliogáil anseo

This course, CB2, is based with permission on "NUACHÚRSA GAEILGE NA mBRÁITHRE CRÍOSTAÍ." The lessons and exercises are ideal for teaching grammar in the upper-primary or junior post-primary classes. Even as a reference grammar that can be displayed on a screen in the classroom this course will prove invaluable to the hard-pressed teacher. The examples and exercises have been brought up to date i.e. the euro instead of pounds, shillings, and pence; the supermarket instead of the well as a meeting place; teacher instead of master and so on. [ Details ]

  • These provide a handy reference grammar to supplement the conversational language taught in the communicative approach. The exercises come with automatic marking and cumulative reports of work done. Teachers required to provide regular reports of their continuous assessment will find this facility a great time-saver.
  • Adults and individual students may avail of one to one tuition -- "Grinds" -- via Skype (minus camera) at €30 per hour. All the material on the site -- essays, pictorial topics, grammar -- will be available to such students as required at no extra cost.
  • The material itself is available to teachers for use in the classroom at a group-rate of €10 per pupil per year.

We take ten typical pictorial essays such as those presented in the Junior Cert Ordinary Level exam and we provide the vocabulary and idiom required to discuss each picture.
